Microtone the World | 48-EDO

Downtempo instrumental TFF cover performed, programmed, and produced in standard tuning (12-EDO), but then revised with all synths scripted to be microtonal in 48-EDO. 48-EDO means the octave is compressed to the width of a minor third (4 times as narrow). This creates an intentionally monotone melody that thrives on being severely out of tune.

Not to be taken seriously, this is just another weird idea I had; I wanted to see if the tune would still be recognizable and memorable if the melodic range was compressed.

Go pick up Roland’s book, “Welcome to Your Life: Love, Death & Tears For Fears”. I gave it an immersive read (the book and audiobook simultaneously).

DAW: Cubase Pro by Steinberg
VSTs: Halion 7 by Steinberg, Prism by Native Instruments, Serum by Xfer Records

All synths scripted to 48 equal divisions of the octave centered at MIDI note 62 [D]
